From now on your poor taste in handbags could land you in jail.

The New York Post reports that a bill is being introduced Thursday which would hit buyers of counterfeit handbags with a $1000 fine or a year in jail. Historically it has only been the merchants that get penalized but one councilwoman is taking action against the phonies (people and purses)!

This needs to become an international law. I personally don’t believe in counterfeit items. It makes the label lose its exclusivity and the luxury of owning such item dies. Also the people proudly touting around their counterfeits look ridiculous. I think the worst has to be when they believe that it’s the real thing they’re carrying around. Those poor souls.
